FindATrade Ltd operates FindATrade.ie, an Irish marketplace that helps people find local tradespeople and service professionals. For privacy questions or requests, contact info@findatrade.ie.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect:

• information you submit through contact, registration or listing forms, such as your name, email address, telephone number, business details, service area, listing content and uploaded images;
• messages and contact details you choose to provide through the FindATrade AI chat assistant;
• technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, timestamps, security logs and cookie preferences; and
• records needed to administer listings, enquiries, support requests and payments.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, identity documents, medical information or other sensitive personal information through the chat assistant.

How and why we use information

We use personal information to operate the marketplace, respond to enquiries, create and manage business listings, provide support, prevent fraud and misuse, maintain website security, improve the service and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Our lawful bases may include taking steps at your request or performing a contract, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service, compliance with legal obligations, and your consent where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal.

AI chat assistant

Our website uses a tawk.to live-chat and AI-assistant service. Visitors are informed when they are interacting with AI. The assistant may process chat messages and any name or email address you voluntarily provide so it can answer questions or arrange follow-up. Important details such as a tradesperson’s availability, price, qualifications or verification status should always be confirmed directly with that business.

tawk.to processes chat data on our behalf as a service provider. Its services and subprocessors may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, using the safeguards described in the tawk.to Data Processing Addendum.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use necessary technologies to operate and secure the website. Optional cookies or local storage may be used for features such as chat and analytics where permitted by your consent choices. The tawk.to consent form is shown before chat-related cookies or local storage are used for visitors covered by that setting. You can decline optional processing and can also control cookies through your browser.

Who we share information with

We may share information with service providers that support website hosting, email, security, analytics, payment administration and customer support, including tawk.to for chat services. They may process information only for the relevant service and subject to their contractual and legal obligations. Security and external businesses

We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. Tradespeople and service businesses listed on FindATrade.ie are responsible for their own privacy practices when you contact them directly.

Children

The website is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information through the AI chat assistant.
